THE OPPOSITE OF HAPPINESS

Let’s take this opportunity to think about all of the problems we are having. We can begin with all that went wrong today and then go back to the terrible things that happened to us last week, last month, last year.

While we’re at it, let’s blame our (now) former friends, our families, our schools and everyone we ever met. We must not forget the people we dated in the past, no good…every one of them.

The list can be as creative as you want it to be and you can probably find lots of things I have forgotten to list so far.

Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Yet this is what you hear around you, or worse still, say to others as we go through our day.

Sometimes I think it’s a shame we don’t have a Mirror in front of us when we are expressing our grievances. The reason I say this is, because the shock of seeing our faces distorted and grimacing, would remind us just how unhappy we are when we are angry, upset or going on about something that we feel is wrong in our lives. This is especially true when we think someone else is responsible for our problem(s).

Ask yourself, does any of this involve a smiling face or a positive attitude? I know it doesn’t. However, I leave it for you to decide, just how much unhappiness and misery you enjoy having in your life.

If Life really is too short, I would say it probably is too short to create a face full of permanent wrinkles etched into a down turned scowl. That will be the added legacy of a life spent complaining about how tough, miserable, unhappy; and especially how life has wronged you particularly.

I don’t know about you, but just thinking about it wears me out. Try a smile for a change. As you know, I think a Smile is both Addictive and Contagious. Maybe you can try one sometime.
