I read somewhere that the greatest Luxury of all is
Time. Time to do what you want, when you want it. It helps to have enough Money
to improve the range of choices logically available for you to pursue. However,
Time is more valuable than Money. When you commit, all of your energy and
resources in a specific direction, it is amazing what you can accomplish.
Just as we use such a small portion of our Brains, we also
throw away our material resources casually in different ways than we would if
we were more goal oriented and finally put that Wish List down on paper and
made a committment to ourselves to reach our goal (or die trying).
Looking after your Health, at least a bit becomes more
important as you get Older. I am speaking after a horrified look in the Mirror
at the Bags under my Eyes that none of my non-Night Owl Family members share,
so I know what I am talking about here.
When you are 20, 24/7 isn’t much of a problem. You bounce
back easily and when travelling could care less where, and if, you get any Sleep.
Most of the time your body puts up with you, and generally, too much is just
about enough.
At 40, sleeping on the Floor after drinking all night,
and getting another sane person to do it with you i.e. your partner, is much
less likely. At best, you might be told that it was time to Get Real and Grow
Up or that one would think you’d have outgrown Adolescence by now. Most of us
pity those who haven’t.
You should, at some point, have a much better idea of
what you really want. This is not always apparent to other people. Few of us
are Mind Readers, which is probably not a bad thing. However, as I said to
someone last year, if you never tell people what you want, you’d better hope
the people around you have Psychic Powers or you will end up with everybody else’s
cast offs.
So start with a goal of your own, think about what your
ideal life would look like.
Think about what it would take to make what (you have
just a second ago said is Impossible) Possible and start to direct your time,
resources and efforts toward something you really personally want for a change.
You will be happier, and I suspect those around you
will notice an undefinable change in you.
When you are ready, JUST GO FOR IT. See you there!
